B (A) blood type is a rare subtype of ABO blood type, the proportion of the population is 0.3 ~ 1.6 people / 100,000 people.
In October this year, the Jiangxi Blood Center received two blood donor specimens from Jiangxi Province for ABO blood group identification. The serological test of the center found that the two specimens were consistent with the A2B blood group characteristics, and only the B blood group gene was found in the genetic test. Sequencing analysis confirmed that the two genotypes were B(A)02/O02 and B(A)04/O01, which were first discovered in Jiangxi Province.
Li Guoliang, director of the Blood Transfusion Research Office of the Jiangxi Blood Center, said that the B(A) blood type is a manifestation of the mutation of the B gene in the normal B-type human being in the process of inheritance to the next generation. The blood type is usually AB type. "The blood type of the next generation of this blood type often does not conform to the genetic rules, and it is easy to cause misunderstandings that children are not their own."
Jiangxi Blood Center said that B (A) blood type identification is difficult, it is easy to cause blood transfusion and blood matching difficulties. Due to its genetic characteristics, it is also prone to family discomfort. Accurate identification of the blood type can ensure the safety of clinical blood transfusion, avoid the occurrence of medical disputes, and maintain harmony between the family and the society.
"The discovery of this blood type provides a database of rare subtypes in Jiangxi Province, and provides data for the mutual aid of blood donors in rare subtypes," said Xiong Li, deputy director of the Blood Transfusion Research Laboratory of the Jiangxi Blood Center.
