Basic applications of various types of sensors in the field of medical electronics
Wearable health sensors have already been available, and an absorbable Proteus sensor has been born (has passed the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) review), and sensors are often used in medical electronics. This article focuses on the basic applications of biosensors, load cells, and non-contact temperature sensors in the medical electronics field.
Note: Proteobacterial sensors can be completely in contact with gastric juices in the stomach and then communicate unique signals based on the timing of the ingestion. These signals are transmitted through the body tissue to a battery-driven patch on the skin so that various signals as well as physiological and behavioral metrics such as heart rate, body position and activity can be detected. Of course, in the end, this Proteus-type sensor will flow out of the body like a high-fiber food, and generally lasts for 7 days.
Pressure sensor
A load cell sensor is a transducer that converts force or gravity into an electrical signal. Pressure sensor applications, commonly referred to in medical applications, are medical pressure sensors, which must be highly accurate and compact for easy portability, especially when the device is directly connected to the patient. If the sensor is used in a medical device-integrated monitoring instrument, standard packaging materials such as stainless steel and anodized aluminum are used. If the device is in direct contact with the human body or liquid, special stainless steel or disposable sensors that can be autoclaved can be used. The figure below shows the medical application of the pressure sensor.
Medical pressure sensors have been used for bed weight monitoring in the early days, and now small pressure sensors are used in areas where human error is likely to occur, such as infusion pumps for administration. In order to adjust the flow rate as accurately as possible and to facilitate the nurse to monitor at any time, the pressure sensor is applied to the infusion pump. This sensor accurately measures the weight of the infusion bag. When the weight of the liquid is different from the preset value, the sensor will immediately send a warning message to the connected device and communicate with the controller in time.
Non-contact temperature sensor
In general, non-contact thermometers measure the heat emitted from a remote infrared radiant heat source. The non-contact surface is clearly visible without a clear fiber optic temperature sensor or a combination of infrared fiber and infrared sensors. This may help determine the surface temperature of fast moving objects, even in narrow places and electromagnetic fields. AgClxBr1-X is considered to be the best choice for measurement at low temperatures. These fibers are characterized by flexibility, insolubility and non-toxicity. For this reason, silver halide infrared optical fibers are used in infrared spectroscopy, as well as in radiation measurement and thermal imaging in industrial and medical applications.
