MIT's new technology: faster and more accurate blood test with sonic vibration
On May 23, in order to make the blood test process more convenient, scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) developed a new technology, as long as the blood flows through a device and adds tiny channels of compounds to the low-frequency sound waves. Vibration, separation of blood cells, can be used for different tests.
In the pipeline of the device, the scientist puts a liquid with iodixanol and sonic vibration to form a "staircase" of different densities. When blood cells enter the pipeline, they move toward the side of the pipeline. When they approach the ladders that are close to their density, they stop, and researchers can sort out white blood cells such as monocytes and lymphocytes.
Researchers believe that the technology can be a new way to detect blood in the future and is faster and more accurate than current methods.
