How to fertilize lotus root?
The base application rate of lotus roots should be determined according to the fatness of the soil. Generally, 1500-2500 kg of human or animal manure or barn manure or 3000-3500 kg of green manure is applied per acre. Applying more manure can reduce the red rust spots attached to the lotus root body and improve the quality. Deep-water lotus roots are prone to phosphorus deficiency. In addition to applying enough organic fertilizer, 30-40 kg of superphosphate should be used as base fertilizer.
The lotus root has a long growth period and is generally top-dressed 2-3 times. The first time is when the standing leaves begin to appear. After field tillage and weeding, 750-1000 kilograms of human excrement is applied per mu. The second top dressing is carried out when there are 5-6 pieces of standing leaves, and about 1,000 kilograms of human feces and urine fertilizer are applied per mu. The third top dressing is carried out at the end of the appearance of leaves, at which time the lotus root begins to form, which is called top dressing. 1500 kg of human feces and urine fertilizer and 30-50 kg of cake fertilizer are applied per mu. Fertilization should be sunny, windless and airless, and should be avoided at noon in the hot sun. Drain the water every time before applying fertilizer so that the fertilizer can be absorbed into the water, and then refill it to the original depth. In deep-water lotus root fields, fertilizers are easy to lose, so liquefied fertilizers cannot be applied directly, and solid fertilizers should be applied. That is, reapply barnyard manure or green grass green manure, and bury it in the mud. When using chemical fertilizers for top dressing, first mix the chemical fertilizers with river mud thoroughly to form a fat mud mass, which is then applied to the lotus root field.
Introduction of Fertilization Technology for Lotus Root
After shallow water lotus root is stubbed continuously for about 5 years, due to poor soil ventilation conditions, copper, iron, zinc and other trace elements cannot meet the growth needs of lotus root. In addition, the application of organic fertilizers is less, and the nitrogen fertilizer is applied more. It is easy to induce physiological diseases . The physiological disease started in early and mid-May, and the peak incidence is generally in the high irritation season from July to August. At the initial onset, the new leaves appear slightly wilted right out of the water, the veins of the leaves gradually become green and pale, and the edges of the leaves have brown spots, which gradually expand until the entire leaves die.
The main prevention methods are:
(1) Plowing once after 3-4 years of continuous cropping is the fundamental way to control physiological diseases.
(2) Increase the application of organic fertilizer and control the amount of nitrogen fertilizer.
(3) At the end of April, when there is only thin water in the lotus field, use 1-1.5 kg of copper sulfate, 2-2.5 kg of ferrous sulfate, and 25-30 kg of calcium-magnesium-phosphate fertilizer for every 667 square meters of dry fine soil to fence.
