Cold Shed Eggplant grafting management needs to be refined
Eggplant grafting can not only increase the yield but also increase the resistance to pests and diseases. After the eggplant is grafted, it takes 10-15 days for the vascular bundle to differentiate from the combination of the rootstock and the scion, and the growth and fusion of the callus. For the cold eggplants in early spring, it is particularly important to strengthen the temperature, humidity, light and ventilation management at this stage to promote wound healing and improve graft survival.
Light intensity. During the wound healing process of grafted eggplant, avoid direct sunlight in the early stage to reduce the transpiration of the leaves and prevent the seedlings from losing water and wilt, but be careful to let the seedlings see scattered light. Within two to three days after grafting, shading nets, straw curtains, and curtains were used to shade the sun. After 3 days, the sun was no longer shaded in the morning and evening. The sun was covered only for a while at noon, and the temporary shading time was gradually shortened. After 7-8 days, remove the shade and see the light throughout the day.

In the first 3 days after grafting, eggplant should be raised to 28°C-30°C, 15°C-17°C at night, and 15°C above ground temperature. In order to ensure proper temperature at the early stage of grafting, heating equipment should be provided in the greenhouse under low temperature conditions, and electric heating and hotbed nursery should be used when there is no heating equipment. After 3-7 days of grafting, the temperature decreased by 2°C-3°C with increasing ventilation. After a week, when the leaves resumed growth, the interface was healed and normal temperature management began.
humidity. Minimizing the transpiration of scion moisture is one of the decisive factors in improving graft survival. After the grafting of each seedling, the substrate shall be irrigated with water immediately, and the seedlings shall be placed in a small, fully-watered shed with grafting. The film shall be covered with moisturizing, and the graft shall be sealed tightly after completion of grafting. The relative humidity in the first 3 days is preferably in the range of 90% to 95%. The spray should be sprayed once a day on the morning and afternoon to maintain a high humidity state. It is advisable to cover the film with dew drops. When the water is sprayed, the sprayer faces upwards, avoiding direct sprinkling of the grafting site and causing interface rot. If a layer of wetted nonwoven is applied under the film, the moisturizing effect will be better. Relative humidity can be slightly reduced in 4-6 days, 85%-90% is appropriate, generally only before and after noon spray. One week after grafting, it was transferred to normal management. In order to reduce the infection of pathogens, improve disease resistance of the seedlings, and promote wound healing, the spray may be sprayed with Fengfengsu or fungicides.

The seedlings are susceptible to disease under high temperature and high humidity, and can be used for 1-2 times per day, but after the ventilation, they need to be sprayed again and sealed moisturized. After 3 days, the seedlings grow in the morning and then pass through small winds. Afterwards, the air vents gradually increased and the ventilation time gradually extended. After 10 days, the seedlings survived and the film was removed to enter routine management.
