Application advantages of the second generation of cast steel electric stirring rolls
The original electromagnetic stirring equipment of the slab continuous casting production line of the steelmaking plant of Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. is imported equipment with high price and long spare parts procurement cycle. To this end, we cooperated with a company to develop the first batch of cast steel electric stirring rolls. The use of the machine basically met the requirements. In 2008, the process and materials were improved to produce the second generation of forged electric stirring rolls. The effect is further improved.
Advantages of the second generation cast steel forged electric stirring roller:
1. The roller body should have good permeability and reduce magnetic loss;
2. There is sufficient strength and rigidity to complete the over-steel task of continuous casting billet;
3, has a good surface quality, can withstand the flow of continuous casting billet;
4, has a stable swing performance, good dynamic and static balance;
5, has a good lubrication, sealing effect, the ability to pass cooling water is good;
6, has good thermal stability, can withstand repeated hot casting billet impact;
7. Have the expected economic life, do not affect production and increase costs.
Electromagnetic stirring can play the following roles in improving the quality of slab:
1. Improve the surface quality of the slab; reduce the central segregation;
2. Reduce the number of subcutaneous bubbles and reduce their size;
3. Reduce the grade of the intermediate zone and the center crack of the slab;
4. Reduce the level of looseness in the center; reduce the level of point inclusions on the side;
5. Reduce the carbon segregation index;
6. Increase the mouth circumference of the equiaxed crystal zone;
7. Improve the crystallization and metallographic arrangement of silicon steel billets.
