Singapore's Hello Health Group has received round financing to provide health care information to Southeast Asian countries

Hello Health Group is a Singapore-based start-up company, whose main business is to help Southeast Asian countries build medical and health information site. On Wednesday, the company announced a $1.5 million seed round of financing, led by CMG.ASIA. In addition, a group of strategic angel investors from Thailand also participated in this round of financing, including Charles Toomey, former global president of Healthcare DKSH. (Note: CMG.ASIA (California Management Group) is one of the largest healthcare companies in Vietnam with 18 self-owned brands, including the well-known California Fitness & Yoga.)

The startup plans to use the investment to expand its market in the third and fourth quarters of this year and to enter several key frontier regions in Southeast Asia. In addition, they will increase investment in product development.

According to Chris Clarke, a venture partner at Hello Health Group, the company's biggest challenge now is to use "editing style" to provide accurate medical information to attract more audiences. He said:

Our information service is aimed at professionals in the medical profession, but it also needs to provide services to consumers. Therefore, the best norm for defining content is to have scientific rigor and literary artistry. Clark continues to explain that they have adopted a strategy to use professionals in the traditional medical industry to help them contribute content.

James Miles-Lambert, co-founder of Hello Health Group, said in an official statement:

A platform like Google will provide consumers with the most reasonable information. Today, the biggest medical health problem encountered in many emerging markets is that information is incomplete and inaccurate.

After this financing, CMG.ASIA Chairman Randy Dobson will join the board of the Hello Health Group. Dobson said: "Hello Health Group can improve the quality of life of locals in Southeast Asia, and their influence can bring about real change. Therefore, it is a very good opportunity to lead the round of financing, so I can never give up." Hello The Health Information website created by the Health Group is very similar to WebMD. Of course, their website is mainly aimed at Southeast Asian countries, providing localized medical information products for local people. (Note: WebMD is the largest medical health service website in the United States, with the world's most extensive health and medical information, and is the professional website that doctors worldwide are most willing to pay for.)

In October 2015, the Hello Health Group launched the HelloBacsi.com website in Vietnam (Bac Si is a Vietnamese doctor); they also launched the HelloSehat.com website in Indonesia (Sehat is Indonesian health). Readers may have noticed that although the Hello Health Group is headquartered in Singapore, the two websites mentioned above have chosen the local language and the content on the two websites is different.

The company hopes to stand out in the medical information arena by providing accurate medical information for designated markets. In order to achieve this goal, they use “HONCode Certification” to self-regulate and inspire to become a precise information provider. (HONCode: Health on the Net Foundation Code of Conduct, which does not rate the quality of the website, but provides ethical guidance and regulates the information provided on the website.)
