Development Zone ends a "stained beef" point of sale

Yesterday, on January 17, the industrial and commercial law enforcement officials of the Industrial Development Branch of the Municipal Development Zone responded to complaints from the public and, at a farmer's market in Fanzhuang in the area, ended up with a “stained beef” sales outlet on the spot. A batch of dyed beef was confiscated on the spot. The processing site for beef production is under further investigation.

On that day, it was the 3rd day of the special inspection of food safety before the Spring Festival conducted by the Industrial and Commercial Sub-bureau of the Development Zone. Some citizens reported that in a farmer's market in Fanzhuang, merchants were selling dyed beef.

Law enforcement officers immediately came to this market after hearing the news. At a point of sale, industrial and commercial law enforcement officers conducted sensory inspections and found that the beef on the stall selling beef was almost entirely dyed. After the law enforcement officials explained the situation to the merchants, they immediately detained all the beef on the stalls, totaling more than 100 kilograms.

According to the person in charge of the Industrial and Commercial Branch of the Municipal Development Zone, near the Spring Festival, the "dyeing beef" in the farmers' market has risen again. Although these dyed beefs are sold well, they have seriously affected the food safety of consumers and must be resolutely cracked down. These foods must not be allowed to enter the market.

The scene’s industrial and commercial law enforcement officials told reporters that according to their inspection, these dyed beef dyes are mostly nitrite and a dye called “direct brilliant red”. After adding, the color of the meat can be red after cooking, the mouthfeel is fresh, and the shelf life can be prolonged obviously. In particular, dyes called "direct red" are industrial dyes that cannot be added to foods at all.

In response, the industry and commerce departments stated that before the Spring Festival, the raids on the beef market will be further strengthened.
