Principle of pipette
Pipettes are divided into two types according to the principle of use, one is air displacement (or Air Displacement), and the other is positive pressure (or called "Positive Displacement").
1. Air displacement type is suitable for normal pipetting operation (filling air between liquid and piston).
2, positive pressure type is suitable for the operation of high viscosity liquid (the piston and liquid direct contact with IKA pipette is this type, the amount can be transferred to a high viscosity liquid).

Pipetting technology
First, positive pipetting
1. Range setting, press the pipette drain button to the first stop point.
2. Release the button smoothly and the liquid is sucked into the shampoo.
3. When draining, the tip is close to the container wall, first press the discharge button to the first stop point and then pause, then press the second stop point.
Second, reverse pipetting (IKA pipettes have this function)
1. Press the button to the second stop,
2. Dip the tip into the liquid surface, and slowly slide the control button back into place to release the button wash solution.
3. When draining, the tip is close to the container wall, first press the drain button to the first stop.
4. The remaining volume of liquid is discarded or returned to the original storage container.
5. Release the button until the first stop is released.
Third, repeated pipetting
1. Press the button to the second stop.
2. Dip the tip into the liquid surface, slowly slide the control button back into place and release the button to aspirate.
3. When draining, the tip is close to the container wall, first press the drain button to the first stop.
4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as shown in the figure below.
5. The remaining volume of liquid is discarded or returned to the original storage container.
6. Release the button when releasing to the first stop.
Fourth, whole blood pipetting method
1. Press the button to the first stop.
2. Dip the tip into the liquid surface, slowly slide the control button back into place and release the button to aspirate.
3. Stick the tip to the wall of the container. Press the drain button to the first stop, then drain the liquid. Repeat the third and fourth steps as shown in the figure below for 3~4 times until the liquid is clean.
4. Finally press the button to the second stop to completely drain the liquid on the inner wall of the tip.
5. Release the button.
Notes on Pipette Operation Lebe has been written in previous articles, and I won't say more here. Here are three ways to pipette:
1. The suction head is close to the inner drain of the container, which is the most common and most classic way of draining;
2. Discharge directly above the liquid. This method is simple and not easily restricted by objective factors;
3, the tip is inserted into the liquid surface to drain, this method is mainly used for small-range pipettes or special body fluid drainage, but in this way, you must pay attention to the nozzle must be removed from the liquid before releasing thumb.
